Start with the installation

Describe where the profile will sit: on a visible surface, within an opening, at a corner or suspended from a ceiling. Include a photo or drawing of the installation area. This gives the supplier a useful starting point for reviewing profile options, rather than choosing a section from appearance alone.

Bring the strip and section dimensions together

Record the LED strip width and any connector space needed. Share the strip manufacturer's specifications alongside the proposed profile drawing. Ask the supplier to confirm the usable internal space and review the complete assembly, including the cover and fixing method. Do not assume that similar external dimensions mean the same internal fit.

Review the complete set of components

List the diffuser, end caps, connectors and mounting accessories needed for each run. Mark where cables enter and where sections meet. Ask for the component references to be included with the quotation so the order describes a complete combination, not just an aluminum section.

Confirm the finish and sample

Specify the intended colour, surface finish and cut lengths. Where appearance is important, agree on a physical reference or sample before confirming the order. Review the assembled sample in the intended installation and lighting conditions; product photographs alone are not an approval reference.

Prepare a clear inquiry

Send the selected drawing or model, quantity, installation details, required components and destination. Include any inspection or packing requirements. Ask the supplier to identify anything still requiring confirmation before you approve the specification.
